Barricades and Signs is the industry leader for all traffic safety needs in Western Canada who offers a full range of roadside safety products and onsite traffic services to our customers. Barricades and Signs is a division of The Universal Group, recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed companies in 2026, and has exciting opportunities in our construction projects. Collaborating with the Project Manager, this leader will be essential in overseeing job site activities while upholding rigorous safety and operational standards. We are seeking a professional with technical knowledge in guardrails, high-tension cable barriers, steel protection, and traffic signage systems.


What you will be responsible for:

  • Plan and organize equipment, labour, and materials for work completion
  • Work with project managers to organize project schedule, timelines, and deadlines for work completion
  • Communicate crew schedules, project work locations, and deadlines for completion
  • Oversee effective operations on project sites and ensure foreman meet expectations
  • Communicate equipment repairs and maintenance needs to the Director of Operations
  • Communicate with clients on-site regarding work completion and progress
  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to foreman and crews
  • Establish a culture of safety among the crews and ensure appropriate paperwork is completed
  • Lead, train, and mentor foreman and establish accountability for performance on work sites
  • Work with Human Resources in hiring foreman and crew labourers
  • Review and approve timesheets for crews
  • Comfortable driving a 2-ton and hauling trailers with various products or equipment

What we need from you:

  • Minimum of three to four years within the construction sector
  • Proven background in a supervisory, foreman, or superintendent capacity
  • Prior exposure to guardrails, cable barriers, or signage infrastructure is preferred
  • Possession of current safety tickets and relevant industry safety training
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with a dedicated safety-oriented perspective
  • Demonstrated organizational proficiency and a sharp focus on precision
  • Ability to effectively educate, lead, and develop project personnel
  • Current driver's license supported by a satisfactory driving record

  • Schedule flexibility is essential to accommodate project deadlines; the core expectation involves a Monday to Friday availability from 8:00am to 5:00pm, alongside a commitment to evening, weekend, night, and travel-based work as operational needs dictate.
