Job description

Material Handler - $20.51
Paid Weekly
1st -7a-3p
2nd – 3p-11p
3rd – 11p-3a 
Shift premiums: 2nd shift 1.50, 3rd shift 1.00.
Training on 1st shift

Position Summary
This position plays a vital role in the movement, storage, and handling of steel coils and processed materials throughout our production facility. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, takes pride in maintaining an organized work area, and is committed to quality and safety.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Safely transport steel coils, finished products, and raw materials throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment (training provided as needed).
  • Supply production lines with materials while ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Verify material identification, quantities, and locations before moving product.
  • Assist with staging customer orders for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through proper material tracking and documentation.
  • Inspect materials for damage and report discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Keep warehouse and production areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and quality standards.
  • Assist production, shipping, and receiving departments as business needs require.
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Overhead crane experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and material labels.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment around heavy equipment and steel products.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
