We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Welding Fabricator Lead Man to oversee our fabrication operations and ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
About Us:
We are a family-owned steel fabrication shop specializing in custom metalwork for commercial, industrial, and residential clients. With a commitment to quality, we take pride in delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
ย * Lead, mentor, and train a team of skilled welders and fabricators.
ย * Plan, assign, and direct daily welding and fabrication tasks to meet production schedules and deadlines.
ย * Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
ย * Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc, etc.) on different materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.).
ย * Fabricate and assemble metal parts, brackets, and structures according to required dimensions and tolerances.
ย * Conduct quality control inspections of finished products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
ย * Monitor project progress, track milestones, and report weekly updates to management.
ย * Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency improvements within the fabrication shop.
ย * Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
ย * Estimate time and material costs for custom fabrication projects.
ย * Operate and maintain a variety of welding and fabrication equipment, including torches, power supplies, saws, grinders, and other machine shop tools.
ย * Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
ย * Proven experience as a welder/fabricator, with at least 3+ in a lead or supervisory role.
ย * Expertise in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, etc.) and ability to work with diverse metals.
ย * Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
ย * Proficient in using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
ย * Excellent knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, shaping, bending, and assembly.
ย * Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a team effectively.
ย * Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
ย * Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety regulations.
ย * Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs.) and stand/be active for extended periods.
ย * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
ย * Valid driver's license (if applicable for occasional travel or material pick-up).
