Job Description
Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator/Specialist needed at a manufacturing plant. Excellent benefits provided. This job is in Mattoon, IL. Please do not apply if you will need visa sponsorship of any kind, either now or in the future.
  • You will be responsible for guiding safety, health, and environmental initiatives at the company.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, such as OSHA and EPA
  • Foster an incident and accident-free workplace through education, coaching, training.
  • Analyze and take corrective action on accidents involving people or property.
  • Create and monitor safety and accident prevention statistics.
  • Assist with workers' compensation reporting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, in Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Health and Safety. Two-year degrees may be considered with good experience.
  • One or two years' experience with a four year degree, in a manufacturing environment. More experience is necessary with a two year degree. Must have experience in an EHS role with a manufacturing company.
  • Military and other experience in workplace safety will be considered in lieu of a degree. Internships or co-op experience are great pluses.
  • Must have excellent skills with MS Office tools for the purpose of writing reports, communication by email, analyzing statistics, developing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Some knowledge about Behavior Based Safety programs.
  • Must be willing to work in a factory/manufacturing environment.
