Job description

StatisticianLong-Term Contract in Marietta, GAFlexible/Hybrid Work Schedule

We are search of a highly meticulous and engaged Statistician for a long-term contract engagement. The Statistician is a vital member of a department dedicated to supporting the health, well-being, and professional fulfillment of clinical staff—including physicians, practitioners, nurses, and other care providers. This department designs and implements initiatives to address clinician burnout, enhance resilience, and foster a positive organizational culture that supports safe, high-quality patient care.

As a Statistician, you will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting key performance indicators and outcomes that inform strategic priorities, highlight correlations between outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness of well-being initiatives. This role collaborates with team members to develop methodologies for impact assessment, maintain comprehensive dashboards, and translate complex data into clear, actionable reports for leadership and stakeholders. You will also be involved in both quality improvement and research projects, applying advanced statistical methods to guide planning, make data-driven adjustments, and evaluate outcomes over time. This role requires close collaboration with clinical professionals, researchers, and internal team members to ensure initiatives are grounded in strong methodology and aligned with organizational goals to improve clinician well-being and, by extension, patient care.

Other responsibilities include
  • Utilize a range of statistical tools and software to analyze data from multiple sources, including surveys, electronic health records, and operational databases.
  • Apply advanced statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and correlations and interpret findings to assess the impact and effectiveness of well-being initiatives.
  • Conduct analyses on both small and large datasets to uncover insights about high-risk groups or emerging issues, supporting data-driven decision-making for program improvements.
  • Prepare and deliver regular, clear, and visually engaging reports and presentations for department leadership, executive stakeholders, and team members.
  • Facilitate discussions with team members to review data analyses, clarify implications, and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Collaborate on scholarly articles, engage with external researchers, and mentor fellows and residents in research methods, as needed.
Required Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Biostatistics, Sociology, Biology, or related field is required.
  • Master’s Degree in the above fields are highly preferred.
Required Minimum Experience
  • 5+ years post-Master’s Degree in applied statistics, or related experience OR 3+ year post-Doctorate in a relevant field.
Required Minimum Skills
  • Strong data, analytical, and statistical background and ability to discern when to apply high-level versus detailed analytical approaches.
  • Knowledge of research methodology and application of advanced statistical methods (including predictive modeling and times series tests).
  • Technologically savvy; proficient in data analysis and visualization tools, including R, SPSS, and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with complex analysis such as Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, Poisson Model, Mann-Whitney U test, and/or Kruskal-Wallis test.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation and reporting skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across groups and drive results.
  • Experience with Lean processes and waste reduction.
