Your Job
The Advanced Process Engineer will be responsible for researching new and existing manufacturing technologies, and coordinate and execute the DOE's. They will be presenting their findings across our teams to guide development of implementation strategies.

The Advanced Process Engineer will be supporting our POC lab in Lisle IL.
What You Will Do
  • Research new manufacturing technologies and possible uses for DSS manufacturing. Bringing findings to core team for discussion and potential projects launch.
  • Lead process development projects as assigned to validate new manufacturing technologies or gain a deeper understanding of existing technologies. Outputting a data driven analysis and conclusion.
  • On assigned projects work with product design engineers on new cable/connector design concepts.
  • Input on brainstorming of new concepts including high level product CAD design to drive ideas
  • Develop a knowledge base of the varied DSS cables and connectors to facilitate knowledge share of technologies across DSS product families
  • Validate DFM Product/Process concerns with structured experiments
  • Share/transfer knowledge of technology and process details with the core project team. Presenting output of process development projects
  • Development of tooling or fixturing required for technology or process development. Designing tooling as required
  • Set-up and debug tooling and processes in POC lab
  • Provides manufacturability feasibility (DFM/DFX) to product development team • Develop working knowledge of Molex manufacturing lines/machines to ensure lab work can correlate to production

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Support the analysis of multiple potential solutions to derive at an optimum solution
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering or technical capacity
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline
  • Ability to develop a new technology via a structured scientific approach (DOE)
  • Understanding of statistics and use of a statistical software (preferred minitab)
  • Ability to define process requirements (scope a project) from high level inputs
  • Ability to read and interpret product, tool detail and assembly drawings including GD&T
  • Ability to research and develop new technology and manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results and make corrections.
  • verbal and written communication skills Computer skills: 3-D CAD, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must be willing to travel both international and domestic as required to remote plants, facilities, customers or suppliers.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience with laser welding, soldering, resistance welding or any microtermination technologies
  • Experience in material science/material properties
  • Experience in manufacturing assembly processes with tight tolerances Ex. +/-0.05mm with a 1.66cpk
  • Experience in electronics industry, medical device, battery manufacture, HDD, etc.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or technical discipline

For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 - $140,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
