Job Summary
The Process Engineer will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL reporting to the Process Engineering Manager. The Process Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes by providing technical support in the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing systems per project requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement manufacturing systems appropriate for customer applications.
  • Support manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, Yield, Scrap and Downtime.
  • Establish and improve robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters.
  • Capability to independently or together with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of complex mechanical issues with high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
  • Understanding the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the product.
  • Support creation and implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies.
  • Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
  • Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel.
  • Define, Implement, and evaluate proposed design updates and processes.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Create work instructions and coordinate training for facilities and production personnel.
  • Coordinate/participate in pFMEA of manufacturing processes
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 6 years' experience in related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical manufacturing or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering experience working in high-volume assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotics, vision, material handling/part feeding systems, conveyors, ultrasonic welding, foil sealing, HMI/PLC controls.
  • Travel required - 5%
