Job description

ROCKWOOL is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our Group Technology team! This position requires travel of 60%, both internationally and nationally, and the ability to relocate for extended time periods to project sites.

You'll be instrumental in the planning and implementation of our new factory in Wallula, WA.

What You Will Be Doing

You'll be responsible for delivery of electrical utilities to ensure that all buildings, and all process equipment demand for utilities are fulfilled. This includes supply strategy, dimensioning and back-up considerations. Projects to be delivered on time, budget and quality. You'll be working with all phases of delivery projects, from initial order and concept study through specification and design to installation, test, commissioning and after-service.

Projects may vary, from small machine deliveries and engineering support to participation in large international green field factory projects. Projects are mainly to be executed in North America, and the first major project for this position is in Washington State, USA. What the projects will have in common is that your role will be as the expert and key provider of design solutions.

Take full responsibility for design and construction activities within the scope are described below:

  • High voltage installation layout and contact to the power provider
  • Low voltage distribution (LVD) specified in the power load schedule below:
    • General supplies for building HVAC
    • General supplies for process/production plant
  • Complete light installation layout for below:
    • Light inside building
    • Emergency light inside building
    • Light outside areas
  • Main cable tray and underground service routing
  • Optical network layout for below:
    • Rocknet
    • Process control system
    • Room schedule (together with the Mechanical Engineer, responsible for gathering input from project engineers)
  • Specifying the following systems:
    • Fire alarm
    • Gas alarm
    • Access control
    • CCTV control
    • Building control system
    • Inergen fire fighting system
    • Ventilation, A/C
  • Ensure that the necessary expertise from other departments - environment, safety, Minimum Mandatory Requirements (MMRs) are included in the solutions
  • Communicate with suppliers to place orders and follow up to secure compliance with specific design needs
  • Make sure that all documentation / reporting is done and archived following company directives and Group Technology rules, and available tools
  • Substantial travel activity is to be expected for project execution, supplier visits, coordination, etc.
  • Partake in budgeting and the development of tender material for suppliers
  • Study, learn and demonstrate relevant ROCKWOOL technical standards
  • Adherence to confidentiality with proprietary processes
  • Adhere to company's code of conduct / values while representing company at all times

What You Bring

  • Degree in Engineering, with preference for Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years working in a similar position with site installation, electrical design, construction, design specifications of industrial facilities
  • Project execution record in large scale projects, preferred
  • Experience working with multinational teams and stakeholders, a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Extended periods of presence at project sites are required, like temporary relocation
  • Ability to travel both nationally and internationally 60% of the time

The salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - 135,000.00. Your salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions.
