Job description

JOB TITLE: Process Engineer II
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
REPORTS TO: Engineering NPI Manager/CTO
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the site Senior Process Engineer and NPI (New Product Introduction) Program Manager, the Process Engineer manages new products that enters the facility and helps determine the appropriate methodology required for each part and develops or assigns existing process specification. Additionally, the Process Engineer prepares and/or modifies existing work instructions. For new development qualifications, the Process Engineer will work closely with the site Senior Engineer and EH&S to ensure that all potential safety concerns have been taken into consideration and all risks to employees are minimized. The Process Engineer attends recurring Global Engineering & Cross-functional Team meetings.
The Process Engineer will work with customers to meet their expectations for new products. They will review, understand, and implement customer-supplied specifications as in line with internal established processes. Additionally, they will collaborate with third-party suppliers and vendors to develop necessary equipment and tooling specifications.
The Process Engineer is responsible for training employees before transitioning the product to regular production operations, ensuring they are proficient in all aspects of processing the new product. In accordance with Company's Policies & Procedures, the Senior Process Engineer will uphold the highest safety and quality standards, while maintaining company values and prioritizing customer's needs. When needed, the Senior Process Engineer assists quality investigations for customer or internal issues to help determine root-cause and recommend corrective actions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under the direction of site Sr. Engineer, direct the activities of Engineering Technicians.
  • The assessment of incoming product utilizing Customer documentation.
  • The set-up of new Process Specifications of Qualification jobs in house for processing.
  • Updating legacy processes specifications to current processes as needed.
  • Apply Engineering background and experience to design and implement gained efficiencies in all departments as needed.
  • Audit all product-related documents received for conformance to internal and external specifications.
  • Interpret Engineering drawings and sketches.
  • Coordinate projects and track status using Engineering Project Management tools.
  • Ensure quality of the work performed through diligent use of existing control processes.
  • Prepare for and participate in customer audits.
  • Create and update departmental procedures.
  • Be a conduit for communication from Upper Management to Engineering Technicians, Production and Operations Staff.
  • To understand what chemical reactions are taking place, (including dimensional changes and changes in the appearance of different alloy substrates) during chemical processing.

Requirements
Job Requirements:
  • BA in Engineering discipline and 1 - 3 years' experience, or
  • AAS in Technical discipline and 3 - 5 years' experience, or
  • High school diploma with Trade School certificate or College courses and 8-10 years' experience.
  • Candidates with direct application experience in Semiconductor equipment refurbishment will be given first consideration (include but not limited to: Chemical Processing, texturizing, mechanical assembly/testing, thermal coating in a production environment)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Business Travel up to 15%.
  • Good working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel, Power-point and Word.
  • In-depth mathematical knowledge is a must with familiarity of converting factors and units of measure (standard and metric).

  • Auto-Cad or similar drafting software experience a plus, but not required.
