Job description

Description
The Division of Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Research Associate positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of human genetics, including statistical genetics, computational biology, pharmacogenetics/genomics, functional genomics, genome editing, structural variation analysis, kidney genetics and familiarity with studies addressing translational genomic medicine. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include bioinformatics analysis of genetic, genomics, epigenetic datasets associated with kidney disease development. Working with collaborators and being part of the Penn/CHOP Kidney Innovation Center to facilitate collaborative efforts.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to receive mentorship in genetics, genomics and bioinformatics. The applicant will be responsible for primary data analysis and publish and present results. Mentorship will also be provided for grant application and independent faculty position application.
