The Data Analyst is crucial in empowering Atlanta Mission's strategic decisions and designs across Development, Volunteer Services, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, Finance, as well as Client Services. By transforming data into actionable insights, your work directly contributes to growing our reach, deepening engagement, measuring our impact, and serving our community with greater effectiveness and faithful stewardship.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and Interpret Data: Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret data related to donor and volunteer engagement, retention, NPS scores, surveys, marketing campaign performance, fundraising activities, and operational metrics to drive strategic planning.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations (using tools like Salesforce and Tableau) to communicate trends, performance against KPIs, and insights to various stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Client Services Reporting and Dashboards: Create basic reports, such as caseload and capacity reports, and build dashboards for Client Services to track service deliveries and program performance.
  • Data Integrity: Conduct regular audits, data quality checks, and reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across development, business, and CRM (Salesforce) systems.
  • Database Management and Support: Support and manage ongoing data needs, including mailing list creation, data segmentation, event invitation lists, and database queries (Salesforce and SQL proficiency desirable). Serve as a support resource for internal users of data systems.
  • Basic Systems Administration: Perform field creation and updates in Salesforce for Development, Volunteer Services, and Client Services, and create and manage user accounts as needed.
  • Strategic Partnership: Partner with internal teams (Marketing, Development, Volunteer, HR, Client Services, etc.) and external vendors to support data needs for direct mail, telemarketing, digital marketing, and other initiatives.
  • Trend Identification and Recommendations: Proactively identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within external/organizational data, providing actionable insights and recommendations to inform future strategy and optimize resource allocation.
  • User Support and Team Enablement: Serve as a primary point of contact for data systems support, assisting internal users with troubleshooting and data-related questions, while also providing training on data best practices and tools to foster data literacy across the organization.
  • Process Optimization and Automation: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency by streamlining data collection, analysis, and reporting workflows, potentially leveraging automation tools and techniques.

Position Requirements:
Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Salesforce reports/dashboards, Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
  • Proficiency or demonstrated ability to quickly learn SQL for database querying.
  • Experience with Salesforce required, including comfort with basic administration tasks such as field creation/updates and user account management; experience with other CRM or donor management systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis concepts; experience with Python or R is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Asana, Airtable, Monday, Smartsheet) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting and/or walking)
  • Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer
  • Must be able to communicate accurate information
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors, to adjust focus and maintain close and distance vision
