What We're Looking For:
Amway is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Tax Analyst to join our US Tax Compliance team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our tax compliance and related processes. You will review federal, state and local income tax returns, assist in the review of information prepared to support federal and state tax audits, handle tax notices and focus on tax accounting during year end. You will also have the opportunity to lead various tax projects, such as research on federal and state tax issues, cross-functional collaborations within the organization and mentor and guide tax staff.
A unique aspect of our team is our close partnership with an in-house technology solutions team that builds custom tools to automate and streamline our work. If you are passionate about process improvement and leveraging technology to enhance tax functions, this is an excellent opportunity for you. As part of a global company with a unique business structure, you will gain exposure to a wide breadth of interesting and complex tax reporting scenarios.
Day to Day, you will be responsible for:
  • Reviewing federal and state corporate income tax returns for accuracy and completeness.
  • Partnering with external service providers to manage compliance deliverables.
  • Serving as a key resource and guide for our tax preparers, offering mentorship and support.
  • Responding to audit notices from various tax authorities.
  • Partnering with our dedicated in-house Technology Solutions team to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within our tax workflows.

Required qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Corporate Income Tax department or public accounting firm, with the majority of the focus on corporate income tax with an international emphasis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Skills to be successful in the role:
  • Experience with OneSource software, Alteryx, Tableau and Oracle Business Systems - JDE and EBS is a plus.
  • An ability to work cross-functionally with both business partners and finance colleagues at various levels of the organization.
  • A high degree of financial, business, and analytical acumen, inclusive of the ability to effectively communicate and present complex tax and financial data (both verbally and written) to influence all levels and global audiences, helping others understand tax and financial data and to translate it into actionable business insights.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand the broader view. Demonstrates an understanding of the long-term, "big picture" view of needs and opportunities.
  • Thought leadership aided by the ability to connect dots and challenge assumptions.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills in handling multiple activities/projects simultaneously.
  • An ability to research tax related statutes, regulations, and court cases.

The Corporate Tax Department is responsible for tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax planning for Amway's global organization. Our team of skilled professionals operates in a dynamic and evolving world of tax policy and compliance. We host an in-house technology team that deploys technology solutions including automation and data analytics tools to streamline processes and drive efficiency. The Domestic team focuses on US tax compliance including areas related to income tax, excise tax, sales and use tax, property tax, and tax credits. This position will mainly focus on federal corporate income tax, with an international emphasis, as well as state and local income tax.
