About the Job:
The Student Respiratory Therapist provides basic respiratory care to patients of all ages, under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager and Staff Respiratory Therapists. In this role, you'll support the respiratory therapy team by delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care while gaining hands-on clinical experience. Limited licensed therapists may independently perform therapies in which competency has been demonstrated, while advanced procedures require direct supervision.
What You'll Do:
  • Administer respiratory treatments and medications under supervision or demonstrated competency.
  • Draw, analyze, and report blood gas results; maintain related equipment and quality assurance standards.
  • Assist with management of mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, and life support systems.
  • Perform EKGs, Holter, and event monitor setups as needed.
  • Respond to codes, rapid response calls, and patient transports.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nurses, allied health staff, patients, and families.
  • Ensure all respiratory equipment functions properly and meets safety standards.
  • Accurately document patient care and services rendered.

Who You Are:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program in good standing, with at least 6 months of training completed.
  • Holds a valid New Hampshire State Student/Limited Respiratory Care Practitioner license and current CPR certification.
  • A critical thinker with the ability to multitask in high-stress, fast-paced situations.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, able to work effectively with others under pressure.
