Job description

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team leading cross-functional program delivery for transactional notifications. This role can be based in Seattle, WA or Boston, MA. 

You will own delivery of transactional notification feature launches and enhancements that span business teams across Chewy. You will work closely with business, UX, engineering, and analytics teams to support initiatives that directly impact customer experience, operational efficiency, and business growth. You will be seen as a subject matter expert on the transactional notification onboarding and operating model and be a trusted thought partner with business teams to ensure efficient delivery of their objectives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog across various business teams

  • Work with engineers and product managers to clarify technical requirements and then turn those into milestones and execution plans

  • Identify risks, tradeoffs, and bottlenecks early; drive mitigation strategies and escalate effectively when needed

  • Navigate ambiguity to formulate a plan and drive alignment across teams to achieve that plan 

  • Partner with engineering teams in architecture and design discussions to understand system tradeoffs and inform execution plans  

  • Drive clear communication and alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership 

  • Establish and drive operational rigor through planning mechanisms including sprint planning, stakeholder backlog prioritization, retrospectives, and quarterly/annual operating plans

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Program Manager, or similar role delivering cross-functional technical initiatives

  • Ability to engage in architecture discussions, understand system tradeoffs, and influence technical decision-making 

  • Experience managing complex dependencies across engineering, product, data, and business stakeholders 

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including executives  

  • Highly organized, execution-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and bias toward action 

  • Experience with Jira and other project management applications

Nice to Have 

  • Experience in transactional or marketing notification platforms

The base salary range for this role is $110,500 - $176,000.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
