Job description

** SIGN ON BONUS UP TO $7,500 **

Summary: Evaluates, administer, and monitors a wide variety of therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care procedures to patients of all ages with various cardio-pulmonary disorders in all areas of the medical center.

Education: Completion of a High School education or equivalent. Graduate of an AMA accredited Associates Degree Program in Respiratory Care or the equivalent. Must have a current license in the state of RI and must be nationally Certified or certification eligible, and hold a valid license from the State of Rhode Island.

Licensure: Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Rhode Island and must be nationally certified or certification eligible.

Experience: Prior experience preferred. Will train new graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care Program, but employee will be required to pass boards and obtain State of Rhode Island license.

Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Works in clean, well-ventilated area. Will be exposed daily to disagreeable odors, sights, bodily wastes, and contaminated equipment. May be exposed to infectious diseases and / or bodily harm from combative patients. Required to carry, push, and pull equipment and gas cylinders weighing between 50 โ€“ 150 lbs. to and from patient care areas. Must follow all safety regulations, Infection Control policies, and Universal precautions. Regular staff will be required to work the hours hired for including every other weekend and holiday. Per Diem staff is required to work four (4) shifts per six-week schedule as the needs of the department demand.
