Job Summary:
The State Motor Vehicle Inspector for PVA (Jiffy Lube) is responsible for examining the customer's vehicle to ensure it is fully operational and meets all established requirements by the state DMV. You will also ensure that our customers are confident in the safety of their vehicle by evaluating the customers' needs and performing services as a Lube Technician.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform multi-point Inspection of automotive vehicles to ensure compliance to emission standards and governmental regulations and maintain detailed records of vehicles inspected.
  • Communicate whether vehicle passed or failed the inspection and suggest improvements to vehicle that fails, as well as advise service consultant/technicians of additional work.
  • Test vehicle for wear-and-tear damage, check for damaged headlights, leaks, and faulty blinkers. Check for improper adjustments or alignments and for any illegal equipment installed on vehicle.
  • Inspect and assess the condition of all the vehicle's essential mechanical systems and components as well as check accessories, air lines and electrical circuits.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as oil and filter change, refill fluid levels, and inspecting and replacing lights, wiper blades, brakes, and tires.
  • Inspections should be done in a professional and efficient manner while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid license as a State Vehicle Inspector.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
  • Able to stand for an extended period.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, crawl, and climb stairs.
  • Comfortable working in an enclosed and/or semi-outdoor environment.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

  • Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Some knowledge in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Dedication to following safety policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to undergo on the job training and a growth mindset.
