Job description

We deliver an exceptional luxury automotive experience to SWFL’s most discerning clientele. Our team thrives on operational excellence, high standards, and a passion for precision.

We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and hands-on Automotive Controller to lead our accounting department. If you are an experienced dealership accounting professional who loves digging into the details, working closely with department heads, and driving profitability in a premier luxury retail environment, we want to talk to you.

The Role
Unlike corporate desk roles, this is an active, operational position. You will not only oversee financial reporting and internal controls, but you will also roll up your sleeves to handle day-to-day transaction posting, schedules, floor plan reconciliations, and manufacturer communications.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and submit accurate monthly OEM financial statements in accordance with factory guidelines and GAAP.

Hands-On Accounting: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, car deals, accounts payable/receivable, titling, and schedules on a daily and weekly basis.

Floor plan & Cash Management: Manage dealership cash flow, daily bank reconciliations, and Floor plan payoff/funding processes with financial institutions.

Departmental Partnership: Meet regularly with Sales, F&I, Service, and Parts managers to review financial performance, control expenses, and optimize margins.

Internal Controls & Compliance: Enforce robust internal auditing processes, ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (Red Flags, 8300, DMV compliance, sales tax filing), and manage annual audit preparations.

Payroll & HR Support: Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, commission structures, and local HR compliance functions.

What We’re Looking For
Dealership Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of progressive dealership accounting experience (Automotive Controller or Senior Assistant Controller experience preferred).

Luxury Automotive Background: Prior experience with high-line/luxury brands (e.g., Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus, Land Rover, or Exotic marques) is a strong plus.

Technical Mastery: High proficiency in major Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as CDK Global, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or Tekion, alongside advanced Excel skills.

Hands-On Mindset: A proactive problem-solver who enjoys working through schedule balances, posting transactions, and staying involved in day-to-day store operations.

Location: Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Naples/Fort Myers area.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience ($150k+) + performance incentives.

Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options.

401(k) retirement plan with dealership match.

Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.

Employee discounts on vehicle purchases, service, and parts.

Relocation assistance available for exceptional out-of-market candidates.
