Job description

Role overview

Join MIH Systems Group as a senior-level expert delivering field installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning for Variable Frequency Drives across the NY/NJ region. You will respond to equipment issues, complete on-site repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and guide clients on upgrade paths—while contributing to a high-performing service organization.

  • Bring multiple VFD brands online—start-up, commission, and functionally verify performance.
  • Collaborate with management to streamline service operations: staffing, customer loyalty, cost control, and goal attainment.

  • Deliver durable repairs and reduce callbacks.
  • Maintain transparent communication on job status, milestones, and issues.
  • Recommend additional services aligned with protocols and client needs.
  • Champion safety for yourself and those around you.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on, multi-manufacturer VFD experience.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 lbs and work from heights/ladder.
  • Deep understanding of three-phase motors and control circuitry.
  • Proficiency reading electrical/mechanical drawings, safety rules, O&M manuals; adept with P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Installation and troubleshooting experience for heating and cooling systems.
  • OSHA 30 and SST.
  • Capable of producing inspection and appraisal reports.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills; effective written and verbal communicator.
  • Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting strengths.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Hands-on with programming, calibration, and configuration of 4–20 mA and 0–10 Vdc devices.
  • Self-directed, able to excel without direct supervision.
Preferred
  • Background with gas detection systems.
  • Experience with DriSteem Humidifiers.
Compensation

Estimated Salary: $45 - $64 hourly, with flexibility based on experience and skills.
