Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Cardiac Telemetry. The ideal candidate will provide quality care to patients with various cardiac conditions and participate in a dynamic healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret patient telemetry, including dysrhythmias and remote monitoring.
  • Provide care for patients pre/post cardiac catheterization and surgery.
  • Perform sheath removals and manage central lines and PICC lines.
  • Administer blood products and cardiac medications, including Diltiazem and Amiodarone under established protocols.
  • Ensure accurate documentation using EPIC and engage in effective communication practices using SBAR.
  • Float to various units as required by staffing needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
  • Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience is essential.
  • ACLS certification is required.
  • Experience in charge nurse responsibilities is preferred.
  • NIH certification is a plus.
Shift Details

This position requires 12-hour day shifts with a typical schedule of 3 shifts per week. A commitment to 36 hours weekly is expected, with possibilities for additional shifts as needed.

Additional Information

  • Staff are expected to adhere to weekend requirements, working 5-6 weekend shifts, approximately every other weekend.
  • All contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team, and are expected to report to work during catastrophic events or disasters.
  • Unit orientation for new staff is set at 24 hours.
  • Scrubs are not provided; navy scrubs are required.
Patient Demographics

Patient diagnoses include Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and Post Cardiac Catheterization cases. The unit will manage various cardiac drips and perform relevant procedures such as sheath pulls and TR bands.
