Job description

We are seeking an experienced structural steel erector to join our field operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in a hands-on environment. The right candidate will bring solid fabrication skills, the ability to read plans, and a commitment to producing high-quality results.


Schedule:

  • Monday-Thursday 6:00 am -4:30pm with 30 minute lunch.
  • Hours may vary by season. Seasonal overtime is available.

Certified Welding Experience

  • D1.1 FCAW 
  • Welding Positions: All position welding flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead positions (4G)


Processes

  • Dual shield and inner shield 


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform wide range welding processes to perform structural welds in steel framing, structural joints and connections
  • Perform layout and fit-up with precise measurements and tolerances. 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
  • Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, welding procedures or oral instructions in preparation for welding or cutting metal components
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and fabricate components to precise tolerances
  • Operate shop equipment (saws, welders, grinders, drills, etc.) safely and efficiently
  • Operate power equipment, boom lifts, bridge cranes, telehandler reach forklifts, warehouse forklifts, scissor lifts after proper training and certification. 
  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Able and willing to perform other types of mechanical job duties that are necessary to support the team and complete the project


Qualifications

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficiency with fabrication tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Be extremely safety conscious and wear safety protection equipment (PPE) 
  • Possess the ability to identify process issues and offer solutions
  • Communicate verbally and in writing as required 
  • Be flexible- open to work overtime if necessary
