Job Summary

CIS is seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Staging Technician to join our Warehouse/Staging team. In this role, you will be responsible for staging, configuring, and testing network hardware - including Fortinet, Meraki, and Cradlepoint devices, along with routers, access points, and network switches - prior to deployment at client sites nationwide. This position is well suited to candidates with HelpDesk or NOC-level technical experience who are looking to apply that background in a hands-on, hardware-focused staging environment. You'll work closely with Provisioning, Warehouse, Shipping, and Field Services teams to ensure every device leaves our facility configured correctly and ready for turnup.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stage and configure networking equipment - including Fortinet firewalls, Meraki access points/switches, and Cradlepoint routers - according to client specifications and standardized configuration templates.
  • Configure routers, access points, network switches, and related equipment prior to shipment, ensuring settings, licensing, and firmware are current and correct.
  • Perform initial provisioning tasks such as SIM/APN configuration and carrier activation coordination as needed (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and similar).
  • Test staged equipment for functionality and connectivity prior to release, validating configurations against work orders, project specs, and client requirements.
  • Troubleshoot basic configuration and connectivity issues, escalating more complex technical issues to NOC/Engineering resources as needed.
  • Accurately document staged assets and configuration details within the company's WMS (Triton) and related tracking tools.
  • Coordinate with Provisioning, Warehouse, and Shipping teams to ensure a smooth handoff of staged equipment for packing and outbound shipment.
  • Label, organize, and prepare staged devices for shipment in accordance with company packing and shipping standards.
  • Support periodic inventory audits and help maintain accuracy of asset records and device status.
  • Identify and flag equipment defects, discrepancies, or billing issues for resolution.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical support or NOC role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and related protocols.
  • Experience with remote access and network troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High School diploma, general education degree, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
  • Experience with configuration updates and equipment swaps.
  • Familiarity with ISP operations and equipment.
  • Previous experience in a Tier 1 or similar role within a NOC environment.
What We Offer
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • The chance to work on challenging projects and make a significant impact within a growing company.
