Job description

Job Title: Staging Technician

Department: Staging

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Staging Department Supervisor

Position Summary

The Staging Technician is responsible for preparing, inspecting, packaging, and deploying of SGPS ShowRig staging equipment for rental and production use. This role ensures that all staging products — including platforms, legs, headers, railings, stairs, and lifts — are safe, functional, properly packaged, and delivered in accordance with project timelines. This position works closely with staging management and cross-functional teams to support efficient staging operations both in the warehouse and on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test-fit, assemble, adapt, package, and maintain staging products including platforms, legs, headers, railings, stairs, and lifts.
  • Inspect staging equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and safety; perform or report necessary repairs.
  • Support development and execution of efficient staging workflows and handling procedures.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment required for staging preparation and shipping.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, production, and operations teams to fulfill project requirements on schedule.
  • Label, package, and prepare staging equipment for shipment, ensuring protection during transportation and efficient deployment on-site.
  • Maintain accurate staging inventory records, documenting equipment availability and condition.
  • Provide periodic on-site support for staging installation and strikes, working with production and automation teams as required.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Department to integrate stage lifts and elevators into stage systems, ensuring safe and seamless operation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience in staging, shipping, rentals, warehouse operations, or related production environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with stage decks, platforms, and staging components.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate tools and material handling equipment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to stay current with industry trends and evolving staging technologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD or staging design software is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to:

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Work on ladders, elevated platforms, and in confined spaces when required.
  • Safely operate power tools, hand tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Perform repetitive motions involving hands, arms, and shoulders.
  • Maintain visual and auditory awareness in a busy warehouse and production environment.
  • Work in varying environmental conditions including warehouse temperatures, outdoor venues, noise, dust, and exposure to weather during load-ins and loadouts.
  • Work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime based on project demands.

Working Conditions

This position is performed in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature fluctuations, frequent exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Shift schedules may include early mornings, late evenings, or weekends depending on business needs.
