Job description

Overview:
We are seeking a reliable Material Handler to support our structural steel fabrication shop. This role is responsible for safely moving, organizing, and staging steel materials to keep production running smoothly.


Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and move steel using forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials; verify quantities and heat numbers.
  • Tag, organize, and store steel in designated areas.
  • Stage materials for cutting, welding, and assembly.
  • Follow all shop safety procedures and equipment guidelines.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in steel fabrication or industrial material handling preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes (certifications a plus).
  • Basic understanding of steel shapes and shop terminology.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail; able to lift heavy materials.

Monday - Thursday, overtime scheduled on Friday as needed. 6:30am - 5:00pm.
