Staging Assistant information

What is a staging assistant?

Staging Assistants are professionals who support home stagers in preparing properties for sale by arranging furniture, decor, and accessories to make homes more appealing to potential buyers. Their tasks often include moving and assembling furniture, cleaning and organizing spaces, and following the lead stager’s design plan. Staging Assistants help ensure that properties look inviting and showcase their best features, which can help homes sell faster and at better prices. They may work with both residential and commercial properties and often collaborate closely with real estate agents and staging companies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a staging assistant?

To thrive as a Staging Assistant, you need a good eye for design, basic knowledge of interior decorating, and strong organizational skills, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant experience. Familiarity with inventory management systems, hand tools, and moving equipment is commonly required. Attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication are essential soft skills for success in this role. These abilities ensure efficient staging processes, attractive property presentations, and seamless collaboration with designers and clients.

What are some common challenges faced by a staging assistant, and how can they be overcome?

Staging Assistants often work in fast-paced environments where schedules and client needs can change quickly. Common challenges include managing tight deadlines, coordinating logistics for furniture and decor, and ensuring properties are ready for viewing on time. To overcome these challenges, it's important to develop strong organizational skills, communicate effectively with team members, and maintain flexibility to adapt to last-minute changes. Building good relationships with suppliers and staying proactive in preparation can also help ensure smooth staging processes.

Job description

Job Title: Automated Production Assistant (Weinmann Equipment)

Location: PrimeFab Production Facility

Position Type: Full-Time

Wage: $22-26 hourly

Job Overview We are looking for a tech-savvy and highly motivated Automated Production Assistant to support our advanced PrimePanel manufacturing line. This role is built around our highly automated Weinmann machinery, which drives our panelized wood framing production. You will be the crucial link between the raw materials and the automated equipment, ensuring the machines are continuously fed, monitored, and maintained to hit our daily production targets. The ideal candidate is comfortable working alongside heavy robotics, is obsessed with workflow efficiency, and has the agility to jump in wherever the line needs support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Tending: Safely and efficiently load raw materials (dimensional lumber, OSB, plywood) onto the Weinmann framing and sheathing stations to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
  • Equipment Operation & Support: Assist the Lead Machine Operator in setting up the Weinmann equipment, monitoring the automated fastening/cutting processes, and clearing minor jams or faults.
  • Material Staging: Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure the correct raw materials are kitted and staged at the machine intake exactly when needed to prevent schedule gaps.
  • In-Line Quality Checks: Perform continuous visual inspections of the machine's output, checking for proper fastener depth, accurate cut dimensions, and correct material alignment, immediately flagging any defects to prevent rework.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct daily cleaning (e.g., clearing sawdust and debris from tracks and sensors) and basic mechanical checks on the Weinmann equipment as outlined in our shop SOPs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Manufacturing Environment: Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, CNC, or automated production facility.
  • Tech-Comfortable: Ability to interact with machine interfaces and digital shop floor dashboards.
  • Agility & Pace: A strong understanding that machine downtime destroys budgets; must possess a proactive "hustle" to keep the line moving.
  • Safety Mindset: High level of situational awareness when working around automated, moving equipment and heavy timber rigging.
  • Team Player: A willingness to cross-train and jump into manual assembly, shrink-wrapping, or staging when the machine line is down or ahead of schedule.

Work Environment

  • This is a non-union position in a fast-paced, high-tech production facility.
  • You will work with a team that values efficiency, high-quality output, and continuous improvement.

Year-round, indoor work with a steady schedule, completely avoiding the weather delays of traditional site construction
