Job description

Seeking an experienced technician to assemble, disassemble, inspect, repair, and maintain industrial gas turbine and compressor packages in a manufacturing environment. The role requires expertise in rotating equipment assembly, blueprint interpretation, precision measurements, machining adjustments, and mechanical troubleshooting while maintaining strict EHS and quality standards. Experience with SGT 100-400, A35/A65 gas turbines, RF & Datum turbo compressors, and compressor packaging is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble/disassemble gas turbine and compressor packages and sub-assemblies.
  • Interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and specifications.
  • Perform alignments, precision measurements, bore scoping, torquing, bolt stretching, and machining adjustments to ±0.001" tolerances.
  • Operate micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore scopes, hand tools, air grinders, forklifts, cranes, hoists, and material handling equipment.
  • Inspect, clean, stage, preserve, and document components and assembly activities.
  • Support Engineering, Quality Control, and production teams to resolve assembly issues.
  • Maintain records, perform in-process inspections, mentor junior technicians, and support testing/packaging as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years assembling gas turbines, compressors, or other rotating equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and shop mathematics.
  • Experience with forklift, overhead crane, and rigging operations.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of manufacturing environments and comply with all PPE, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
