Job description

Responsible for fitting, tacking, welding, assembling, inspecting, and maintaining mechanical components and assemblies for gas turbines, compressors, and associated rotating equipment packages. The role requires strong expertise in shop-based manufacturing, precision welding, mechanical assembly, and interpretation of complex technical documentation while adhering to strict safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
  • Perform fitting, tacking, and welding of components per drawings, specifications, and welding standards.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Execute GTAW stainless steel pipe welding and mechanical welding; maintain all required certifications.
  • Qualify and perform welding per ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code (GTAW P8 6G required).
  • Assemble, inspect, repair, replace, and install mechanical components on gas turbines and compressors.
  • Perform alignments, parts installation, rigging, and safe material handling.
  • Operate cutting rigs, welding machines, measuring tools, hand and power tools.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Material Control, and Production teams.
  • Inspect, clean, inventory, stage components, and safely offload incoming parts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with all EHS and safety procedures.
  • Meet production schedules, quality targets, and complete documentation accurately.
  • Travel up to 15% and work overtime or alternate shifts as required.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent technical certificate; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years experience in rotating equipment assembly within a manufacturing or shop environment.
  • Extensive experience with stainless steel pipe welding, GTAW, mechanical assembly, and cutting processes.
  • Preferred experience in gas turbine mechanical and overhaul work.
  • Strong knowledge of tolerances, fabrication, fixtures, and shop manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
