What does a stage manager do?

As a stage manager, your job is to support the director of theater performance and ensure the production runs as smoothly as possible. Your duties include keeping track of ordered changes during a rehearsal, helping actors memorize their roles, and running the production during a full show. You may also schedule rehearsals, call out cues, and coordinate the stage crew. Other responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for designers and set builders, ensuring props and furnishings are available, and recording the various cues for the performance in a master copy of the script.

What does a stage manager do?

A stage manager is responsible for coordinating all aspects of a theatrical production to ensure everything runs smoothly. They serve as a central communication hub between the director, cast, crew, and designers, managing rehearsals, scheduling, and technical cues. During performances, the stage manager calls lighting, sound, and set changes, ensuring the show is executed as planned. Their organizational skills and attention to detail help maintain consistency and safety throughout the production process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a stage manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Stage Manager, you need strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a solid background in theater production, often supported by a degree in theater or related experience. Familiarity with production management software, cueing systems, and scheduling tools is essential for coordinating complex performances. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills help manage cast, crew, and unforeseen challenges. These competencies ensure smooth operations, timely performances, and the overall success of live productions.

What are some common challenges stage managers face during live productions, and how can they effectively address them?

Stage managers frequently encounter challenges such as last-minute changes to scripts or cues, coordinating large teams with diverse responsibilities, and ensuring smooth communication between cast, crew, and directors. To address these, stage managers must stay organized, maintain clear and timely communication channels, and be adaptable under pressure. Building strong relationships with team members and having detailed contingency plans in place are also key to effectively resolving issues as they arise during live performances.

Job description

At ALLO, we believe people are our biggest asset. Our team brings the ALLO mission to life because as local members of each community, we live, work, play, and volunteer right here with you. We're passionate about being involved and contributing to the success and progress of each of our GIG Communities.
We pursue these passions because ALLO leaders have created a workplace where folks are valued, ideas are heard, and leaders and teammates show up for each other at work and in life.

The Technology Solutions Account Executive is the market-facing seller responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing managed IT and cybersecurity technology solutions across ALLO's on-network and off-network business customer base. The AE operates as a specialist overlay within their assigned market, working directly with existing ALLO Fiber and Cloud Voice account owners as well as pursuing net-new logo opportunities. This is a foundational hire for a newly formed Technology Solutions sales organization - the AE will help shape the sales playbook, not just execute it.

Key Responsibilities

Own the full sales cycle for technology solutions opportunities in an assigned market, from qualification through close, per the Six-Stage Joint Sales Process.

Partner with Fiber and Cloud Voice Account Executives to identify referral signals within existing accounts, and coordinate all client outreach through the account-owning rep per the Rules of Engagement.

Lead technical/business discovery conversations covering risk, compliance, and operational technology gaps; translate findings into a roadmap and proposal.

Prepare and present scoped proposals in partnership with the Sales Engineer / vCISO technical resource assigned to the deal.

Maintain complete and current CRM documentation at every stage of the sales process; incomplete documentation will delay commission payment.

Participate in weekly joint pipeline reviews with assigned Fiber/Cloud Voice reps and monthly market pipeline reviews with the Technology Solutions Sales Manager.

Provide field feedback to the Sales Manager and Product team on service gaps, packaging, and competitive positioning during the initial ramp period.

Complete MSP Readiness Training and model the collaborative behaviors expected of the broader referral network.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of quota-carrying, outside or field B2B sales experience; 1+ year specifically selling managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud, or related technology solutions strongly preferred.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding a monthly or quarterly recurring-revenue quota.

  • Working knowledge of core MSP/MSSP service categories (managed network, endpoint security, backup/DR, cloud, compliance) sufficient to run a credible discovery conversation.

  • Comfortable selling both to existing accounts (in coordination with another account owner) and independently sourcing net-new logos.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems (opportunity logging, stage management, forecasting) and general sales enablement tools.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned market territory; occasional travel to Kansas City or other ALLO markets for training and pipeline reviews.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or related field preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Raise objects up to 50 lbs

  • Remain upright on feet for extended periods

  • Remain stationary for extended periods

  • Ability to communicate information

  • Ability to operate a computer

  • Possess/maintain a valid driver's license

People are our passion. At ALLO, we don't treat you like a number. You're a human being.

Get ready to plug into the perks at ALLO:

  • Free internet? You bet. Plus, awesome discounts on other ALLO services.

  • Retirement Plan: The fiber future isn't the only one we care about. We match your 401(k) savings up to 5%.

  • Health and Wellness: Participate in quarterly wellness challenges, and we'll deposit extra cash into your checking or health savings accounts.

  • Benefits: Our benefits include medical, vision, and dental with low employee costs. Not to mention generous Earned Time Off (ETO) program.

  • Sponsorships: Are you passionate about a local fundraiser or philanthropy? We strive to give back to what matters most to our communities.

  • Tuition Assistance: Have a thirst for knowledge? We like that, which is why we're proud to offer assistance with the cost of your tuition.
