Summary

The Branch Manager oversees the daily operations, staff performance, and business development activities of the branch while driving growth in commercial banking and treasury management services. This role is responsible for building strong client relationships, generating new business, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial solutions that support commercial clients’ cash-flow, liquidity, and operational needs. The Branch Manager also ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, operational standards, and bank policies.

This individual's role plays a critical part in expanding the bank’s presence in the commercial market, strengthening treasury management penetration, and ensuring the branch delivers both operational excellence and profitable growth.

This position supervises Branch Operations Staff at the assigned branch location. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. All supervisory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the financial institution’s policies and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities

Branch Leadership & Operations
  • Lead, coach, and develop branch staff to achieve performance goals and deliver exceptional service.
  • Oversee branch operations, risk management, and compliance with all banking regulations.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate transaction processing, cash management, and audit integrity.
  • Manage branch budget, staffing, and scheduling to meet operational and financial objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture aligned with organizational values.
Treasury Management
  • Identify treasury management needs for business clients and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Partner with product teams to implement services such as ACH origination, remote deposit, merchant services, positive pay, and digital banking tools.
  • Conduct onsite visits and consultations with commercial clients to optimize cash-flow efficiency.
  • Train branch staff to recognize treasury management opportunities and refer appropriately.
  • Ensure proper onboarding, documentation, and setup for all treasury management products.
Commercial Business Development
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the branch’s commercial banking portfolio.
  • Source and cultivate new commercial relationships, including small business and middle-market clients.
  • Conduct financial analysis to assess creditworthiness and support loan structuring alongside commercial lenders.
  • Represent the bank at community events, networking functions, and business associations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, identifying cross-sell opportunities across lending, deposits, and treasury products.
Customer Experience
  • Champion a relationship-based sales approach that focuses on long-term customer value.
  • Monitor client satisfaction, resolve escalated issues, and ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of bank products, policies, and market trends to guide clients effectively.
