Overview: We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across full-stack application development and platform initiatives. This is a hands-on role focused on designing, building, and scaling cloud-native SaaS products. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery, and Kubernetes, along with strong experience building and scaling full-stack applications. This role requires a senior technical leader who can influence architecture, solve complex engineering problems, and drive technical direction across teams.
 
Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of scalable full-stack SaaS applications and backend services.
  • Drive architectural decisions across application, API, data, and platform layers.
  • Develop production applications and services using JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Build and support cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform, including solutions leveraging BigQuery.
  • Design, develop, and optimize applications running in Kubernetes environments.
  • Design and optimize data solutions using MongoDB and NoSQL databases.
  • Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
  • Help establish engineering best practices around testing, deployment, observability, and operational reliability.

 
Required Skills

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience operating at Staff Engineer or equivalent senior technical scope.
  • Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Strong full-stack application development experience.
  • Strong experience with Node.js.
  • Production experience with MongoDB and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native application environments.
  • Experience building and scaling SaaS products.
  • Strong software architecture and distributed systems experience.
  • Experience developing scalable APIs and production services.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
