Description

About Verisk Extreme Event Solutions

Verisk Extreme Event Solutions helps organizations understand, quantify, and prepare for some of the world’s most complex risks—from natural catastrophes and climate change to emerging global threats. Our teams combine advanced science, modern software engineering, and powerful analytics to build solutions that support critical decisions for insurers, businesses, governments, and communities. Here, engineers work on meaningful products at scale, in a collaborative environment that values curiosity, technical excellence, continuous learning, and practical innovation.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who is excited to build modern, cloud-based analytic applications that solve real-world problems. In this agile engineering role, you will contribute across the full stack—designing scalable services, building intuitive user experiences, and helping evolve high-performance solutions used to model and manage extreme event risk. Our core production stack is .NET, Angular, and AWS, but we place equal value on strong engineering fundamentals, adaptability, and a desire to grow within an AI-forward development culture.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Delivery: Design and build robust backend REST services and responsive Angular frontends using clean, maintainable architecture.
  • Technical Design: Translate complex requirements and system architecture into elegant, working software.
  • Cloud & Analytics: Develop cloud-based analytical frameworks, performance-driven algorithms, and specialized tooling.
  • DevOps Excellence: Contribute actively to automated testing, continuous integration (CI), and modern DevOps infrastructure.
  • Optimization: Prioritize performance, cost-efficiency, stability, and seamless functionality in all deployments.
  • AI Innovation: Evolve and experiment with the use of AI tools to improve development velocities and outcomes.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: BS in Computer Science (MS preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of commercial-grade full-stack software development experience.
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of frontend UI, backend business logic, scalability, frameworks, and performance optimization.
  • Core Stack: Competency or expertise in C#, Angular, PostgreSQL, and Python (or strongly translatable enterprise languages).
  • Analytical Mindset: Excellent debugging and code review habits; ability to reverse-engineer logic and identify flaws in unfamiliar codebases.
  • Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen, Green Card holder, or qualify for an H-1B visa transfer.

What We Offer

  • Structured Onboarding: Dedicated time and resources to ramp up smoothly on our specific technology stack.
  • AI-First Culture: Encouragement and a dedicated budget to experiment with modern AI development tools.
  • Work-Life Integration: A flexible hybrid work model built around a highly collaborative, team-driven environment.
  • Competitive Rewards: Comprehensive healthcare, retirement matching, and career progression pathways.
