What is a Staff RN 1?

A Staff RN 1 is a Registered Nurse who typically works at an entry or early-career level within a healthcare facility such as a hospital, clinic, or long-term care center. They provide direct patient care, administer medications, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality treatment. Staff RN 1 nurses may work in a variety of specialties and are often supervised by more experienced nurses or nurse managers. The '1' designation usually indicates the first tier or level within the staff nurse hierarchy.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Staff RN 1?

To thrive as a Staff RN 1, you need a solid nursing education, active RN licensure, and strong clinical assessment and patient care skills. Compassion, effective communication, and teamwork help distinguish outstanding nurses in this role. These skills and qualities are vital for ensuring patient safety, delivering high-quality care, and fostering collaboration in healthcare environments.

What are the typical collaborative interactions a Staff RN 1 can expect within a healthcare team?
