Job description

Overview
The Columbus Crew is pursuing to hire an enthusiastic seasonal grounds member for the 2026 MLS season to provide hands-on experience in a diverse professional sporting environment. The grounds department is responsible for all grounds management at Scotts Miracle-Gro Field, Historic Crew Stadium, and the Ohio Health Performance Center.
This position requires working hours during Crew home matches and stadium events. You will have the opportunity for additional hours depending on event and team training schedules.
Opportunities & Responsibilities
  • Aid in all aspects of field maintenance at all three field sites
  • Exposure to agronomic practices, planning, and implementation
  • Exposure and education on synthetic turf, grow lighting, glycol field heating, and Subair
  • Assist in grounds operations for Crew home matches
  • Assist in grounds operations for special events including concerts

Required skills, experience & abilities
  • Active college students or recent graduates preferably in turf related field (Preferred)
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and move continuously during work hours
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
