Job description

Position Description
The Carpenter is responsible for the full range of rough and/or finished skilled carpentry work, including fitting and joining, wood and other materials by applying the appropriate techniques in accordance with product specifications and schedules. The Carpenter will work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work order instructions on daily tasks to maintain the facility to the highest standards.
This is a Full-time Hourly position requiring flexible schedules - possible first and second shift rotation - based at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Use industry accepted construction methods, materials, hardware, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in a commercial / industrial setting.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, install and repair or maintain tools & equipment, office furniture and furniture systems, wall partitions, cabinets or other millwork, counters, trim, molding, floor and ceiling tile and other materials and finishes commonly found in commercial building structures, etc.
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, or hardware; Frame out and make repairs to walls, set door frames, install ceilings etc.; adjust, rebuild, replace door hardware such as locksets, hinges, door closers.
  • Install racking, shelving, cabinets, signage, banners etc.
  • Participate in show and production fabrication as directed by Facilities Maintenance Manager or Director of Stadium Operation.
  • Setup and safely operate equipment: table saws, hand power tools, chop saws, routers, belt sanders, nail guns, staple guns and other tools related to the job needs.
  • Design and construct templates or fixtures to provide an efficient and timely fabrication of repeatable components.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
  • Plan and organize work, anticipate material needs and forecast time and supplies required to meet all deadlines.
  • Coordinates with other trade's and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.
  • Will be required to perform various lower classified duties such as (but not limited to) CMMS processing /workplace cleanup as required.
  • Able to work in multiple work environments (heat, cold, noise, etc.)
  • Able to perform work in high locations with proper PPE.
  • Able to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications; ability to follow equipment service manual instructions.
  • Inspect and certify work is in compliance with all safety and organizational policies.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations, Material Safety Data Sheets (Globalization) and safety precautions.
  • Respond to and coordinate all emergency call activities as necessary in order to maintain a safe stadium environment at all times.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and proper upkeep of all company tools.
  • Work alongside other stadium staff with ice/snow removal duties when necessary.

Education Requirements
A high school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) A minimum of six (6) years' experience with carpentry in commercial facilities 1 million square feet or more. Journeymen carpenter preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: OSHA 10, Master Carpenter's license (preferred but not necessary). Forklift operators' certification. Equipment lift certification.

  • Must have a keen awareness of working environment; "you see - you respond" meaning pick up trash, wrappers, paper, litter, or any other debris you see to keep our building clean at all times
  • Must be available for approximately 75% all events held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium including Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC soccer, concerts, etc. Associates must be available for events on nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must enjoy helping others and working within a team environment
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, meet tight deadline and function under stress.
  • Proactive in seeking out positive interactions with both guest and coworkers and interested in maintaining those positive relationships

  • Must be available to attend all necessary training as a prerequisite for employment
