Description:

Position Summary

The Stadium Custodial Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-stocked facilities throughout Ruoff Mortgage Stadium during and after events. This role ensures restrooms remain stocked and sanitary, common areas and seating sections stay free of trash and debris, and spills or hazards are addressed promptly throughout the event. Custodial crew members work as part of the game day operations team to help deliver a positive, comfortable experience for fans, staff, and guests.


Fort Wayne FC home matches take place mostly on Saturday evenings from May 2 through October 24, with a few Wednesday matches mixed in. Additional stadium events will pop up throughout the season that you will be asked to work.


What You’ll Do

  • Restock restroom supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc.) throughout the event and check facilities on a regular rotation
  • Monitor restrooms for cleanliness, addressing spills, messes, or overflow promptly
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles in restrooms & concourse
  • Sweep and spot-clean concourses, entry points, and gathering areas before, during, and after the event
  • Respond quickly to radio or in-person requests from event staff or supervisors for cleanup in specific areas
  • Break down and remove trash bags to designated collection or dumpster areas
  • Report any facility issues (plumbing, damaged fixtures, low supply stock, etc.) to the supervisor or facilities team
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • May also be responsible for cleaning after a non-soccer event when requested
Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong work ethic and willingness to stay busy throughout the event
  • Reliable and punctual — able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts and stay through the full event, including post-event breakdown
  • A team-first attitude; willing to jump in and help wherever needed on game day
  • Prior custodial, janitorial, or facilities experience preferred but not required
  • Comfortable using standard cleaning equipment and supplies (mops, trash carts, etc.)
  • Positive, guest-friendly demeanor when interacting with fans and staff


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–30lbs (trash bags, supply cases, etc.)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods during events
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, supplies, and equipment (or willingness to be trained)
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, presentable environment
  • Basic communication skills to interact professionally with fans, staff, and supervisors
  • Comfortable working around large crowds and event noise/energy


Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequently required to lift and carry up to 25–30 lbs (trash bags, supply boxes, cleaning equipment)
  • Ability to push or pull carts, mop buckets, and other cleaning equipment across various surfaces
  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate ramps throughout the stadium
  • Manual dexterity required for handling cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Prolonged periods of walking and standing on hard or uneven surfaces (concourses, stairwells, seating areas)

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, and may be exposed to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) depending on the event
  • Exposure to large crowds, loud noise, and high-energy event atmospheres
