Job description

Lead Software Engineer (On-Site, Roswell, GA)

We are an automotive-services analytics startup building AP management and reconciliation software for auto repair shops. We are rebuilding our product on a modern stack, and we are looking for a senior engineer to spearhead the technical direction. This is the person who figures out how we solve the hard problems and then builds the solution alongside the team.

This is an elevated, hands-on engineering role, not a people-management one. You will set the architecture and the technical approach, write code daily, and be the voice others look to when deciding how to tackle something. Your primary lever is strong technical judgment, not managing headcount.

We want someone who is AI-first in their development practice. That means more than shipping AI features into the product. It means rethinking how software gets built, treating AI tooling as a core part of how you design, write, review, and ship code. You will define what AI-first development looks like on this team: the conventions, the guardrails, and the patterns others follow.

What you will do:
  • Spearhead the technical direction. You choose the approach, the architecture, and the trade-offs.
  • Own and evolve the architecture: a React 19 + TypeScript + Vite + Tailwind front end and a Go modular monolith (Gin / GORM) on PostgreSQL.
  • Design and maintain the data model and migrations (single app schema, integer-cents money, immutable audit logging on every write).
  • Architect, provision, and operate our AWS infrastructure (EC2, Aurora RDS, Route53, IAM, networking), Docker Compose deployment, nginx, and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
  • Set the standard for AI-first development across design, coding, review, and shipping.
  • Provide light technical guidance: review code, set patterns, and unblock junior and outsourced developers.
  • Partner with leadership to turn product goals into a realistic technical approach.

What we are looking for:
  • 6+ years building production full-stack software, with a track record of owning technical decisions.
  • Strong with React 19 + TypeScript + Vite + Tailwind (real production work, not tutorials).
  • Strong with Go for backend services (Gin / GORM or equivalent) and solid relational data modeling in PostgreSQL.
  • Able to architect on AWS and defend the trade-offs.
  • A real AI-first practice you can demonstrate across your actual workflow.
  • Comfortable being the technical voice others follow.
  • Able to work on-site in our Roswell, GA office.

Nice to have:
  • TanStack Query, Zustand, Vitest / Testing Library.
  • OCR or document-processing pipelines; reconciliation, matching, or fintech-style data work.
  • Experience migrating a legacy system to a modern stack incrementally.
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification.

Why this role
You will be the senior technical voice on a small team, shaping a product from its rebuild forward, with real ownership of architecture, infrastructure, and how we solve problems. Maximum technical influence, minimal management overhead.

Compensation:
  • Base + Equity.
  • Healthcare (Dental, Vision, Medical).
