Job Summary:
Novir is an emerging diagnostic biotechnology company with an unmatched team of professionals delivering innovative testing solutions. They are seeking a Technical Lead / Full Stack Engineer to own the technology end-to-end, design scalable systems, and partner closely with leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
β€’ Own the technical vision and architecture across all Novir platforms, including core applications, integrations, and infrastructure
β€’ Act as a player-coach: write production code while guiding and leveling up other engineers and contributors
β€’ Leverage AI/agentic development tools to dramatically improve speed, efficiency, and code quality
β€’ Design and build scalable, secure APIs and systems that integrate with internal tools and third-party platforms
β€’ Partner closely with product, operations, and leadership to prioritize and execute against the roadmap
β€’ Translate ambiguous business needs into clean, pragmatic technical solutions
β€’ Lead development of internal tools including tracking systems, inventory systems, and operational platforms
β€’ Establish best practices across code quality, deployment, CI/CD, and system reliability
β€’ Evaluate and implement new technologies that create leverage and long-term advantages
Qualifications:
Required:
β€’ Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript across the stack
β€’ Experience with Node.js and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
β€’ Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS – EC2, RDS, etc.)
β€’ Experience with Docker, distributed systems, and backend services (Redis, nginx, etc.)
β€’ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, CircleCI, CodeDeploy)
β€’ Strong experience designing and building APIs and system integrations
β€’ Comfort working across the full stack: frontend, backend, and infrastructure
β€’ 6+ years of engineering experience, with increasing ownership over systems and architecture
β€’ Ability to operate as both architect and hands-on engineer
β€’ A builder’s mindsetβ€”someone who ships, iterates, and takes ownership
β€’ Experience using (or strong interest in using) AI-assisted / agentic coding tools to accelerate development
β€’ Strong product intuition and ability to work directly with stakeholders and customers
β€’ Comfort operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment
β€’ Track record of building and scaling systems from the ground up
Preferred:
β€’ Prior experience in a lead, staff, or founding engineer role strongly preferred
β€’ Experience with patient tracking systems, EMRs/EHRs, lab integrations (HL7, FHIR, SFTP, API), and inventory logistics
