Flex Officers must be available to work any shift, including DAY / SWING / GRAVE.

Reliable transportation is required. A valid driver's license is required, as the position may require operating a golf cart.

JOB DETAILS
The Campus Safety Security Officer is responsible for providing professional security services at assigned locations, with a primary focus on observing, documenting, and reporting. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitor and report all activity.
  • Conduct foot & golf cart patrols of applicable interior areas.
  • Identify and report suspicious activity and suspicious persons.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely narrative and incident reports.
  • Maintain Daily Activity Reports (DARs).
  • Enforce post orders, site rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance.
  • Provide professional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure campus environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are necessary to satisfy the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • Execute security services as outlined in the Post Order Manual and accompanying policies and procedures, as directed by SMSSI Management.
  • Conduct walking & Golf Cart patrols of buildings, facilities, and assigned interior areas.
  • Identify and report security threats, unsafe conditions, hazards, suspicious activity, and emergency situations.
  • Perform site-specific duties based on assignment, safety and security responsibilities.
  • Conduct Detex, and legible incident reports during each shift, including unusual activities and how issues were resolved.
  • Contact appropriate individuals, including Site Supervision, as directed by post orders or when necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Follow company procedures and maintain acceptable attendance, professional appearance, grooming, and customer service standards.
  • Participate in all required company and site-specific orientation and training programs.
  • Respond to incidents in accordance with Post Orders and the Company's Use of Force Policy, ensuring appropriate action is taken, reports are completed, and appropriate parties are notified in a timely manner.
  • Perform security, customer service, and support functions as directed by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, candidates must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or experience required. .
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid security license required by the state in which the employee is employed.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to operate a golf cart and, when required by the assignment,
  • Flex Officers must be available to work Day, Swing, and Grave shifts as needed.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation as a condition of employment.
  • Must successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment.
  • Some clients may require additional background screening, testing, training, and/or procedures.
  • Must maintain current and active status of all required licenses throughout employment.
  • Must maintain professional conduct, appearance, and grooming standards.
  • Campus Safety Security Certificate / SB 1626 training is preferred.
