As a Physician Assistant specializing in addiction medicine, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments by reviewing patient histories, substance use patterns, and relevant lab results, enabling the development of tailored treatment plans.
• Administering and interpreting CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment) and COWS (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale) withdrawal scales to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Prescribing and managing medications, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), under the supervision of a licensed physician.
• Monitoring patients for signs of medical or psychiatric deterioration and intervening appropriately as necessary.
• Maintaining meticulous and accurate documentation within electronic health records, fostering continuity of care.
• Collaborating actively with the multidisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes, supporting a cohesive and supportive care delivery model.
• Providing mentorship and clinical guidance to other healthcare team members to enhance their skills and confidence in managing addiction-related cases.
• Contributing to the operational efficiency of the facility, ensuring a safe, structured, and professional environment for both staff and patients.

You will work predominantly with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, many of whom face complex medical and psychological challenges. Your role is instrumental in providing compassionate care that supports patients as they navigate the recovery process. By fostering trust and a supportive relationship, you will help patients create a path toward improved health and well-being.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A valid Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of California.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.

We value candidates who bring at least 2 years of clinical experience, particularly in addiction medicine, mental health, or a closely related area. Bilingual candidates fluent in Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, or Vietnamese are especially encouraged to apply, as this skill may qualify you for additional incentives.
