Job Summary:
Nationwide IT Services, Inc. is a trusted government contractor supporting Department of Defense customers, and they are seeking a Data Warehouse Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role provides senior-level technical leadership in the design, development, optimization, and support of enterprise data warehouse environments, ensuring scalable and reliable data solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the SME for enterprise data warehouse architecture, design, implementation, and performance optimization.
• Provide deep technical expertise in large-scale SQL Server database environments, including systems with multi-terabyte data volumes and billion-row datasets.
• Design, support, and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions using Kimball-style dimensional modeling and dimensional analysis methodologies.
• Lead and support the development of fact and dimension structures within complex enterprise data warehouse environments consisting of large table counts and high-volume data.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines, reporting solutions, analytical models, and dashboard capabilities using Microsoft data tools and modern data management technologies.
• Utilize tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Power BI, and ADO to deliver data integration, reporting, and analytics solutions.
• Apply modern tools and technologies, including Python, R, and cloud services, to improve data processing, analytics, and data platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to support iterative development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of data warehouse solutions.
• Analyze data requirements, troubleshoot complex database and warehouse issues, and recommend improvements to architecture, processes, and tools.
• Ensure that enterprise data warehouse solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with mission and business objectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 15+ years of total database experience.
• 12+ years of SQL Server experience within the overall 15 years of database experience.
• Experience working with SQL Server databases of at least 5 TB and a billion total rows of data.
• 5+ years of experience working with Agile development methodologies.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft tools such as SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI, and ADO, as well as modern data management tools and technologies such as Python, R, and cloud services.
• 3+ years of experience performing dimensional analysis in a Kimball-style Enterprise Data Warehouse with not less than 500 total tables and a billion rows of data.
• Secret Clearance required.
