Job description

Position Summary

QualDerm Partners is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Registered Radiation Therapist Technologist (RTT) to support the delivery of Superficial Radiation Therapy (SRT) treatments within our dermatology practice. The RTT will work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and patients to administer prescribed SRT treatments for dermatologic conditions, including non-melanoma skin cancers, while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with all regulatory standards.

This role is responsible for operating SRT equipment, preparing treatment rooms, educating patients on procedures, documenting treatment activity, and maintaining high standards of clinical excellence and patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer superficial radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the supervising physician and according to established treatment protocols.
  • Prepare patients for treatment by reviewing treatment plans, explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Operate and maintain SRT equipment safely and effectively.
  • Verify patient identity, treatment site, dosage, and physician orders prior to treatment administration.
  • Monitor patients during treatment and report any concerns, reactions, or complications to the provider.
  • Accurately document treatments, patient responses, and relevant clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Maintain treatment records in accordance with regulatory, state, and organizational standards.
  • Perform routine quality assurance checks and assist with equipment calibration and maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure treatment rooms and equipment are clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment expectations, post-treatment care, and follow-up instructions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, nurses, and operational leadership to support efficient clinic workflow.
  • Maintain radiation safety standards and comply with all federal, state, and organizational regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and competency assessments.
  • Support a positive patient experience by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Certification
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program required.
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)) required.
  • Current state licensure, where applicable.
  • Current BLS certification required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in dermatology, oncology, or superficial radiation therapy preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced outpatient or ambulatory setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and treatment protocols.
  • Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment accurately and safely.
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
