Job Description

ProSidian Seeks a Mechanical Process Engineer - Engineering (DS113)ย to support an engagement forย a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRR]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.ย  This service supportsย Environmental Management Sectorย Clients (For Present / Future Requirements) and works as part of aย Select Optionย Cadre (Labor Categoryย Mechanical Process Engineerย DS113) to fulfillย " Environmental Management" requirements.ย 

Mechanical Process Engineer - Engineering (DS113)ย Candidatesย provide engineering support services on assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Engineering support services include engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents, including but not limited to: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment, Pipe, and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.

Individuals at times will be required to travel off-Site to interface with vendors, fabricators and other Engineering organizations. Engineering Services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.

Qualifications

Education: BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Experience/Skills:

Candidate must demonstrate five (5) years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of ASME B31.3 code requirements. Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

Area Security Access: A security clearance is not required.
