ProSidian Seeks a Civil Structural Engineer - Engineering headquartered near Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina to support an engagement for Nuclear Energy Sector Clients The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. It encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia. SRS is close to several cities, including Augusta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. It is also within a few hours of Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte. 

This *** | Exempt position currently best aligns with the Civil Structural Engineer DS 107 Labor Category and ideal candidates exhibit the ability to visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges while confidently engaging in productive "Jugaad" and dialogue targeting mission success.  ProSidian Team Members work to provide temporary staffing support services to support Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the Liquid Waste (LW) Contractor located at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC 29808.  Services anticipated includes storage, integration, treatment and disposition of the liquid radioactive waste being managed at the Savannah River Site (DOE).

Civil Structural Engineer - Engineering Candidates shall work to support requirements for 0 and The Civil Structural Engineer DS 107 is a Professional Grade position. Provide Civil Structural DA Engineer Support Services to the U.S. Department of Energy | Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC 29808.  this professional works as part of a Staff Augmentation Support Service Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) on behalf of The Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the Liquid Waste (LW) Contractor located at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site.  Staff Augmentation Support Services align with multiple department requirements including, but not limited to, the following: Accounting | Integration Management | Business | Information Technology | Clerical | Procedures | Construction | Project Controls | Design Authority | Quality Assurance and Quality Control | Design Services | Radiological Controls | Engineering  | Safety and Health | Estimating | Supply Chain Management | Human Resources | Training | Industrial Hygiene | Program / Project Management | etc.

Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Structural engineering tasks include: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs; design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures; foundation and anchorage design; structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions; preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents.

Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.

The Civil Structural Engineer - Engineering shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.  Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct.  The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

Requisite work experience and technical skills to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of the Civil Structural Engineers working and performing tasks in the Energy Industry (Oil and Gas / Power and Utilities / Nuclear Energy) BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

  Candidate must demonstrate five (5) years' experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA. Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field. A 40 hour work week schedule is anticipated for this position. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, fives days on week A and 4 days on week B).

Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch. Standard Facilities Access required but a security clearance is not currently required for this position

TRAVEL:  Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.  Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.  LOCATION:  Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina
