Position Summary
The Staffing Resource Office (SRO) Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient patient care through real-time staffing coordination across BayCare facilities.
Working closely with nursing leadership, house supervisors, and staffing partners, this position is responsible for managing schedules, responding to staffing needs, and allocating resources to support patient care delivery. The SRO Coordinator utilizes staffing dashboards, reports, and scheduling systems to monitor coverage, identify staffing gaps, and support informed operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate real-time staffing and allocation activities in a 24/7 healthcare environment.
- Monitor staffing levels and adjust schedules based on census, acuity, and operational needs.
- Contact available team members to fill open shifts and address unexpected staffing vacancies.
- Receive sick calls, process add-on requests, and manage cancellation workflows.
- Prepare, review, and maintain staffing schedules and staffing variance reports.
- Monitor overtime, incentive utilization, and low census activity to support efficient workforce management.
- Support staffing forecasts, schedule balancing, and float pool utilization.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate staffing records within electronic staffing systems.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, house supervisors, and SRO team members to ensure staffing needs are met across facilities and the region.
- Provide support and guidance regarding staffing and scheduling system functionality.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- Clerical or administrative experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, staffing coordination, scheduling, workforce management, or hospital operations
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry applications
- Experience reviewing reports, dashboards, or staffing data preferred
