Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience administering Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and enterprise networking and storage solutions.  This role is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure systems while providing advanced technical support and serving as an escalation point for complex issues.

The Senior Systems Administrator will manage on-premises Windows Server environments running Hyper-V, administer SAN storage, support enterprise networking infrastructure, and oversee Microsoft cloud services. Experience with Linux systems is beneficial but not required.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide advanced operational support for enterprise hardware, software, cloud services, and infrastructure platforms.
  • Monitor system health, identify trends, and proactively resolve issues before they impact business operations.
  • Respond to automated alerts and troubleshoot complex system, application, and infrastructure issues to restore normal operations.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for critical incidents and production outages.
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure services.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and related workloads.
  • Manage Azure subscriptions, resources, and identity services.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain SAN storage solutions, including MPIO and fiber-attached storage environments.
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise networking infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, and WAN connectivity.
  • Configure, manage, and support Cisco Firepower and SonicWall firewall platforms, including security policies, VPNs, NAT, content filtering, and threat prevention services.
  • Manage and support Aruba switching infrastructure, including VLAN configuration, routing, network segmentation, and performance monitoring.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise wireless environments utilizing Ubiquiti and Aruba wireless access points and management platforms.
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, maintenance, performance tuning, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, network diagrams, and configuration standards.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security controls, remediation activities, and infrastructure security best practices.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for recurring infrastructure and network issues.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, and technology implementations.
  • Recommend and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Follow established change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in enterprise systems administration.
  • Extensive experience administering Windows Server environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft identity services.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Experience supporting Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
  • Strong experience with enterprise networking technologies, including firewalls, switching, wireless networking, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Cisco Firepower and SonicWall firewall solutions.
  • Experience administering Aruba switching infrastructure.
  • Experience managing Ubiquiti and Aruba wireless access point deployments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise storage solutions and backup technologies.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering SAN storage platforms such as HP Nimble or similar enterprise storage arrays.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Conditional Access, and cloud security technologies.
  • Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with Linux server administration.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified, Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba Certified Professional (ACP), SonicWall Certified Professional (SCP), VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with monitoring, automation, and configuration management tools.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or other mission-critical operational environments.
