Job description

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Quanta Services, we provide engineering and design services across transmission & distribution, substations, protection & control, geomatics, civil & structural design, telecommunications, panel fabrication, and the testing and commissioning of medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the structural and civil design of utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects from concept through detailed engineering
  • Design steel and concrete structures, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and site development works
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and design documentation
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable Canadian codes, standards, and safety in design principles
  • Lead small to medium-sized design projects from initiation through completion with minimal supervision
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and support construction activities as required
  • Attend client meetings and build strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • Manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality work within established schedules
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
  • 10+ years of Civil and Structural engineering experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering design, including steel and concrete structures, shallow and deep foundations
  • Experience with civil design, including site preparation, earthworks, and retaining walls
  • Working knowledge of applicable Canadian engineering codes and standards
  • Proficiency with STAAD.Pro and AutoCAD; experience with RISA or similar structural analysis software is considered an asset
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Previous experience in industrial civil projects is preferred
  • Experience working in an EPC environment and/or high-voltage utility substation design is considered an asset

Expected annual salary: $95,000–$135,000 (actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and market conditions.)
