Job Title: Software Project Manager – PLM ImplementationJob Description

This role leads a company-wide transformation from a legacy Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform to Propel, a Salesforce-based PLM solution. You will serve as the senior Technical Project Manager on the client side, owning the implementation, driving governance, and coordinating engineering, IT, and vendor stakeholders. The position focuses on delivering a successful enterprise software implementation in a manufacturing and engineering-focused environment, with high visibility to executive leadership and clear, measurable outcomes at go-live.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end PLM implementation project, from planning through go-live and post-implementation transition.
  • Manage the implementation partner and vendor relationships, ensuring strong collaboration and clear expectations.
  • Hold vendors accountable to project schedules, features, deliverables, and statements of work (SOW) commitments.
  • Develop and coordinate the overall migration strategy, including detailed product data transition activities.
  • Oversee data migration efforts to the new Propel (Salesforce-based) PLM platform, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Manage integrations between the new PLM platform, ERP systems, and other surrounding enterprise systems.
  • Drive cross-functional stakeholder alignment across Engineering, IT, and other impacted business groups.
  • Establish and maintain project governance structures, including decision-making processes and escalation paths.
  • Create and deliver executive-level project reporting, dashboards, and status updates tailored to senior leadership.

  • Define and enforce implementation best practices within a predominantly Waterfall methodology environment.
  • Coordinate critical project milestones and ensure on-time delivery of key phases within the first several months.
  • Develop and execute a detailed go-live readiness plan, including cutover, validation, and contingency planning.
  • Ensure a smooth transition to steady-state operations through a comprehensive handoff and sustainability plan for post-implementation ownership.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in a setting without a mature PMO, bringing structure, discipline, and accountability to all workstreams.
  • Influence how the implementation is run by proactively identifying risks, proposing solutions, and driving decisions.
  • Serve as a visible point of contact for engineering and IT leadership, communicating progress, risks, and outcomes clearly and confidently.
Essential Skills
  • Proven technical project management experience leading complex technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise software implementation projects.
  • Strong background in cross-functional stakeholder management across technical and business teams.
  • Hands-on experience with data migration and system integration efforts.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills, including concise, clear reporting to senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage vendors and implementation partners, including holding them accountable to schedules and deliverables.
  • Experience working within a Waterfall methodology environment, particularly for ERP or similar enterprise programs.
  • Ability to establish project governance frameworks and decision-making processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, timelines, and dependencies.
  • PMP certification strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior PLM implementation experience, preferably leading end-to-end deployments.
  • Experience with Salesforce-based PLM platforms, ideally Propel.
  • background in manufacturing, product development, or engineering environments.
  • Experience working with engineering-heavy stakeholder groups and technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in environments without a formal PMO, bringing structure and best practices to project delivery.
  • Ability to define and implement best-practice guidance for enterprise software implementations.
  • Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy while remaining aligned with executive expectations.
  • Track record of delivering successful go-lives, smooth system integrations, and sustainable post-implementation handoffs.
Work Environment

The role operates within a manufacturing and design-focused organization with an engineering-heavy stakeholder group. The project runs primarily in a Waterfall methodology environment, consistent with existing ERP programs. You will work closely with Engineering and IT teams, as well as external implementation partners and vendors, in a setting that offers high visibility to senior leadership and significant ownership of a strategic technology transformation. The position is based in Fort Collins, CO, with an initial expectation of working onsite five days per week, transitioning to a three-days-per-week hybrid schedule over time.
