Job Title: System Software Programmer / Senior Software Developer
Location: Columbia, SC
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months
Schedule: Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite Per Week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced System System Software Programmer / Senior Software Developer to support the maintenance and development of a statewide case management system. The role will focus on Microsoft .NET application development, SQL databases, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and technical support. The candidate will also provide technical leadership and collaborate with State teams and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to other technical team resources.
  • Interact with Counties and third-party imaging vendors to determine optimal imaging solutions by County.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and technical leaders to understand subsystem and component specifications.
  • Review existing system designs and code to identify potential issues and recommend improvements.
  • Design and document subsystems and system components.
  • Implement and debug subsystems and components.
  • Write and execute tests for subsystems and components.
  • Participate in integrated testing of components and subsystems on test and production servers.
  • Determine and communicate the implications of system-level decisions on subsystems and components.
  • Determine and communicate component requirements and capabilities within the larger system and project.
  • Support technical infrastructure, including repositories, build systems, and testing systems.
  • Troubleshoot new and existing technical issues and coordinate appropriate resolution.
  • Communicate with third-party vendors regarding technical issues and requirements.
  • Organize and coordinate testing activities with functional teams.
  • Perform tasks efficiently and collaborate with the team to ensure successful project completion.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience implementing and integrating Imaging, Document Management, and Data Capture Systems.
  • 7+ years of experience independently designing and implementing medium- to large-scale software systems and components using MS .NET architecture.
  • 7+ years of experience developing data-driven applications utilizing SQL.
  • 5+ years of experience building and deploying web-based software systems utilizing N-tier architectures, dynamic content, highly scalable approaches, and complex security models/implementations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2019, C#, ASP.NET, .NET, MS SQL Server 2016/2019, SSRS, and TFS.
  • Experience with code development, database/script development, unit testing, source code management, build management, integration testing, and deployment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Family Court Case Management application development.
  • Experience using KOFAX products.
  • Experience with performance, security, and testing processes.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent work experience.
