Job Description

EAD Controls is looking for an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to play a leading role in the scope, definition, and design of control systems and instrument design per Client's requirements.  

Responsibilities

  • Performs leadership functions on a team, including mentoring of team members and dissemination of pertinent information to the team
  • Performs leadership on a team, including participation in the hiring process and mentoring of team members
  • Serve as a focal point to communicate and resolve interface and integration issues with other teams to improve department operations
  • Uses data indicators to identify system problems/trends while escalating issues which cannot be resolved by the team
  • Works in close cooperation with other team/project leaders to develop cost, schedule and performance requirements for projects
  • Play a leading role in scope definition and design with primary responsibilities of PLC/DCS based control system and instrument design per client requirements
  • Perform all programming of the control system as required
  • Interface with clients, vendors, construction administrators, and project team   
  • Perform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team to produce the highest level of quality  
  • Capable of being the lead on projects over $1M
  • Capable and experienced in managing and performing projects in a fast paced environment
  • Time manage and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, related experience, four years of service with the military, and training 
  • 10 years experience working in Controls Field as a Service Engineer or Controls Design Engineer, designing, maintaining and troubleshooting PLC/DCS based control systems
  • PMP, CAP, or CCST or willing to commit to getting within next 12 months
  • Proven experience in PLC logic and programming with Allen Bradley
  • Proven experience in HMI or SCADA programming and configuration of any of the following software packages: Wonderware, Rockwell, Siemens etc.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA and U.L. codes
  • Demonstrates a high degree of self-motivation and performs in a highly independent manner with minimal supervision
  • Skilled at performing and providing leadership during routine and stressful situations
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and organizational abilities in order to make effective decisions in an expedient manner while maintaining high quality of standards
  • Ability to teach and mentor other Controls Engineers 
  • Ability to prioritize resources based upon needs and establish protocols
  • Experience with MS Windows based operating systems and applications
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Possess and able to maintain a valid drivers license
  • Ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
