Job description

We are currently seeking an inquisitive Performance Analyst or Senior Performance Analyst to join the Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) US Finance team.  This role plays a critical part in delivering timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights that support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.

The individual will work with the Head of Finance and ZRS leadership team to provide support and advice to help deliver on strategic priorities.  This position reports to the Head of Finance.

This role will be filled at either the Performance Analyst or Senior Performance Analyst level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicantโ€™s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

This role has a hybrid schedule with 3 days a week presence in the Schaumburg Headquarters.

As a key financial partner, you will collaborate across segments and leadership to ensure alignment of financial goals with business objectives.  This role will support budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.  In addition, it will support ad hoc requests, projects and cross-train with other members of the team.

The ideal candidate will have intermediate experience in Excel and PowerPoint and a strong understanding of finance and a P&L statement.  Other skills include good communication (both written and verbal) and critical thinking with an analytical mindset. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Communicating complex financial information and insights to business partners across multiple functions.
  • Prepare key messages, reports and financial analyses to deliver insights to management teams.
  • Supporting the planning and forecasting process and collaborating with business unit leadership to explain changes and impacts.
  • Providing advanced financial analysis and modeling.
  • Monitor/review business progress relative to business/operational plans.
  • Evaluate key projects/initiatives to determine if key deliverables are being met.
  • Identifying gaps in analysis and additional analyses that should be conducted.
  • Apply industry knowledge to own work and bring knowledge to bear with other analysts.
  • Developing written communications that convey analyses and insights in a cohesive story.
  • Defining data requirements and identifying appropriate sources.
  • Build rapport with stakeholders/senior executives and tell a compelling story of results
  • Participating in training and development of new hires.

Performance Analyst Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • Completion of Zurich Finance Development Program, including a Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area

Senior Performance Analyst Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including associate degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance industry experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Knowledgeable of P&L
  • Project management experience
  • CPA, CPCU, CFA or CTP
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using Power BI, SAP, and BPC
  • Experience navigating co-pilot successfully

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to applyโ€”your unique background matters to us. The combined salary range for this position is $72,500.00 - $157,000.00. The proposed salary range for the Performance Analyst is $72,500.00 - $118,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Senior Performance Analyst is $95,900.00 - $157,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
