A story about innovations and traditions...about inspiring stores and irresistible products...about the excitement of the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks, and the wonder of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. We've been part of memorable moments and milestones for countless customers and colleagues. Those stories are part of what makes this such a special place to work.
Job Overview
The Manager, Point of Sale Operations is pivotal in enhancing both colleague and customer checkout experiences by developing and implementing best practices and systemic priorities. This role involves aligning across diverse stakeholder and technical teams and managing multiple high-priority initiatives across Stores, Tech, and Macy's Credit and Customer Service (MCCS).

Facilitating inter-team collaboration to break down silos and achieve business results, while influencing both process and technical solutions at the point of sale, is critical. Success hinges on ensuring seamless execution of promotional events, driving changes in checkout processes and systems, swiftly resolving high-priority POS issues, maintaining an extensive Knowledge Management library for checkout operations, and successfully managing multiple competing initiatives.
A successful leader in this role is driven by a constant desire to learn and proactively identifies opportunities for process and system enhancements, particularly within checkout and POS experiences.

  • Provide guidance to Product and Tech teams on critical business priorities, POS requirements, and dependencies on supporting applications.
  • Conduct collaborative testing of new features and processes across diverse stakeholder groups, strategically prioritizing feedback on scalability and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Product, Project, and Program leaders to identify and mitigate risks impacting overall program priorities.
  • Work alongside Human Resources, Marketing, Selling Strategy, Talent/Org Effectiveness, Central Ops/AP, Colleague Experience, Workforce Strategy, and Corporate Communications to develop targeted communications for store-focused initiatives.
  • Independently configure POS software settings to align with strategic objectives of key business partners.
  • Collaborate with store leadership, Product, and Tech teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting POS systems.
  • Deliver training and technical support to POS end-users, addressing questions and concerns related to the POS system.
  • Stay informed about emerging POS systems and technologies in the market to maintain current knowledge and make informed recommendations.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of company policies, governmental regulations, processes, and best practices.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensure regular and punctual attendance.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Skills You Will Need
