Job Announcement The City of Chandler Fire Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Fire Senior Inspector, this is a full-time position with benefits. The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday 8/5 {after a 6 month probationary period is completed, schedule may change to a 4/10 schedule). Why work for Chandler.

City charter authorizes the Department to mitigate all hazards, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and crisis intervention. In support of those functions, the Fire Department staffs a fire prevention division, EMS and training divisions, mechanical maintenance facility, community preparedness office, and Department administration.

We are looking for someone who will Performs a variety of technical inspections of public, commercial, industrial, residential and other buildings and premises to secure compliance with the City's fire prevention codes and regulations. Minimum qualifications A High School Diploma or GED and additional college coursework in Fire Science or related field 3 years of experience in fire prevention or related inspection work International Code Council (ICC) Fire Inspector I Certification State Fire Inspector I (or an equivalent/acceptable substitute such as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Fire Inspector) within 1 year Fire/Arson Investigator Certification (AZIAAI I-IV, or NFA, or IAAI, or NAFI, or equivalent state Certification) within 2 years of hire or promotion ICC Fire Inspector II Certifications within 1 year of hire or promotion Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. The position available is a regular full-time position and is subject to a 6 month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.

Applicants for employment and volunteer opportunities should be aware of the City of Chandler's policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol. These policies have not been altered by the passage of Proposition 207. The use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the city's Drug Free Workplace Policy.

Certain positions within the city are required to submit to a pre-employment drug test. A positive result for drugs tested under the policy, including recreational marijuana, may be grounds for withdrawal of an offer of employment or volunteer opportunity. The examination process may vary if determined necessary.
