Job description

Job Announcement:Under general direction, performs building inspection activities to ensure the proper maintenance of City-owned buildings and the City-wide enforcement of all standards, codes, and local ordinances related to public health and safety. Interprets codes and functions as a Senior Inspector. Assists fellow inspectors and clerical personnel. Performs related work as required. The incumbent must be able to perform work within a broad framework of general policy, exercising judgment in defining work objectives and determining methods and systems to meet objectives. Reports to the Building Official.Minimum Qualifications:Requires a vocational/technical diploma with training in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and inspections, supplemented by a minimum of two years of progressively responsible building construction and/or inspections experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Must be licensed as a Plumbing Inspector with the state of Texas.Must possess a valid state driver's license.Salary:Starting Salary: $22.95
